Beng Thin Hoon Kee
THE FINEST AND MOST AUTHENTIC PROVINCIAL FUJIAN CUISINE IN SINGAPORE
Our story all began in 1949, when Beng Thin Hoon Kee first opened its doors at a humble shop house on Hokien Street. It was a labour of love and a tribute to the finest and most authentic provincial Fujian cuisine in Singapore. Our founder, Mr Lim Yew Hoon, was only 17 years old when he sailed across the South China Sea from Quanzhou, Fujian, and arrived on our shores in search of a brand new life.
After years of hard work, honing and refining his culinary skills, he finally saved enough money to open a restaurant. And thus Beng Thin began, capturing the hearts of locals and foreigners alike and firmly encasing itself as part of the fabric of Singapore’s historic food identity.
As the oldest and the original Hokkien restaurant in Singapore, we are proud and humbled to have served generations of families and shared in their happiest moments across the decades. From the little shop house on Hokien Street, we have since grown to our current location at OCBC Centre, Chulia Street. A hidden gem in the heart of the CBD, we continue to serve our much beloved delicacies to a new generation of food-lovers.
