Enterprise Development Grant with up to 50% Support

Singapore SMEs can receive up to 50% support under the Enterprise Development Grant (EDG) for projects that help you upgrade, innovate, grow and transform your business. Sustainability-related projects are supported at up to 70%.

About This Programme

The Enterprise Development Grant (EDG) supports projects that help you upgrade, innovate, grow and transform your business. Submit your individual project proposals with details on your business plans and project outcomes to take your business further.

EDG funds qualifying project costs namely third-party consultancy fees, software and equipment, and internal manpower cost. From 1 April 2023, SMEs can receive up to 50% support (up to 70% for sustainability-related projects).

Eligibility

Registered in Singapore

Business entity registered and operating in Singapore.

Local Shareholding

At least 30% local equity held directly or indirectly by Singaporean(s) and/or Singapore PR(s).

Financially Ready

Company is financially ready to start and complete the project (assessed via indicators such as the current ratio).

Project Categories

EDG supports projects that help you upgrade your business, innovate or venture overseas, under three categories:

Core Capabilities

Strengthen your business foundations including business strategy, financial management, human capital development, service excellence, and strategic brand & marketing development.

Innovation & Productivity

Review and redesign your workflow and processes, or explore automation and technologies to make routine tasks more efficient.

Market Access

Support to expand into overseas markets, including mergers & acquisitions and pilot projects for internationalisation.

How to Apply

  1. Identify the project category you wish to apply for. Note there are no pre-approved vendors for the EDG.
  2. For management consultancy-related costs, engage consultants with Singapore Accreditation Council-accredited TR 43 or SS 680 certification (with certain exceptions).
  3. Apply on the Business Grants Portal (BGP) by signing in with your Corppass account. Third-party companies are not allowed to apply on behalf of applicant companies.
  4. Ensure projects are new, have not commenced, and are not generating revenue at the point of application. Each complete application takes approximately 8–12 weeks to process.

Claims

EDG projects are supported on a reimbursement basis. Claims can be submitted when all project deliverables have been achieved, and must reach Enterprise Singapore no later than six months from the end of the project qualifying period. Disbursement is credited directly to your bank account via PayNow (preferred) or GIRO.
